Cooking Investigation
During our cooking investigation students were engaged in cooking in dramatic play, the mud kitchen as well as in the forest. During work time we practiced following recipes to make foods such as cornbread and and stone soup. We practiced writing recipe cards, cutting and measuring ingredients and enjoying our creations. We also welcomed families into the classroom to cook with us as well!
Story Investigation
We noticed the students were really engaged in fairy tales and making uo their own intricate stories during play. We decided to cultivate each students inner storytellers and had puppet shows, encouraged them to put these stories to paper in their story journals and we even made our own castle for the classroom that the students could use to create their own fairy tales and act them out.

I worked as a fellow at the Glen Urquhart School while pursuing my Master's Degree in special education. I co-taught first year preschoolers.
